Portraits make a unique gift and a wonderful and lasting family treasure that will last through generations.
The process of creating a portrait is a complex one. The price of a portrait depends on whether the client orders a face only, a head and shoulders, an upper body, or a full figure painting. Also, the number of people shown in the painting also will affect pricing. Generally, pricing begins at $5.00 a square inch. I ordinarily have several sessions with my clients when we sit together as I paint with them sitting for me. I will take about twenty to thirty photographs of my subject as well, which I will use for studio referencing later on. The process includes meetings to discuss precisely what the client's expectations are in order to ensure that we are in agreement and agree on the direction the project is taking. Sometimes, when the portrait is a "surprise", the challenge becomes great for both the client and myself.
When I do your portrait, I am doing a "painting". it is done in my style. Here are a few examples of my work.
